"Things You Wouldn't Know If We Didn't Blog Intermittently."
It's a good movie, quite entertaining. I would definitely suggest it.Don't know about the article though, in France it's just "Intouchables" I think.
Yep, worth watching. English titles presumably get larger audiences. Why not translate it all then? Because "The Untouchables" is taken and loses the connotations of getting "in touch". Easier to coin a new word.
In english it makes me think of the lowest caste, in french it is sometimes used to mean something that is above being touched because it's superior...like it can't be brought down.
This movie is absolutely awesome. It is one of the most successful movies of all times and based on the true story of a friendship between two men: One disabled millionaire and his nanny from the slums.A must see.
"most successful FRENCH movies" (sorry)
Saw this movie twice in cinema. Both times - only movie I ever expierienced this - the people clapped their hands and were cheering in the end. Must see - really!
true story and an amazing amazing movie!
Terrific film, don't hesitate to see it
Absolutely worth seeing, one of the best movies I ever watched - incredibly funny without being stupid, heartwarming, with melancholic and sad moments and great great actors.
Yes, the French title is simply "Intouchables". If there were an article, it would be the plural "les", to agree in number with the adjective. I've seen and heard the "the" a lot though, I think because people confuse it with the animated Pixar movie "The Incredibles" (which in French is called "Les Indestructibles"; Mr. Incredible is still called "Monsieur Incroyable", though).
I was in the rather unusual situation of having to watch this movie with Spanish and not English subtitles. Though I speak neither Spanish nor French I enjoyed this movie immensely. Though I missed some of the jokes, I could follow it with relative ease and could still appreciate the amazing and moving story that it is. A definite must see.In Spanish it is called "Friends"
While I understand the actual intended meaning I preferred to think of it as similar to inflammable (highly flammable) in this context. Being close to a number of people in similar situations as Philippe, he is paralyzed they have variants on MD that make them just as physically unable to care for themselves, I relate to the story in the sense that they are human beings with as much depth as anyone and this fact is well portrayed. They are human beings that can and should be seen to touch and be touched as profoundly as anyone. Driss’ initial struggle is one that I see almost everyday with people who see these human beings in the way that intouchable is actually defined. Sadly most never get past it, never learn how touched their lives can be.I could go on. It’s a beautiful movie, see it.
Tres predictable! A Driving Miss Daisy update (in French) with all the feel good racial stereotypes that can make one vomit.
Very good film, my face was stuck in a smile for a while after seeing it. It's just good fun, inspired by a true story, and just listen to the true people of the story and the makers of the film: they simply want people to have a good time watching it, no need to look for social/racial/political commentary like Stan B. above, the only intended message is "enjoy life".
watched it last year with my film club - very good film. recommend it highly!
