Persian earring

Crafted of gold, and inlaid with turquoise, carnelian, and lapis lazuli, and described as Near Eastern, Iranian, Persian, Achaemenid, 525–330 B.C.  With a 2-inch diameter, I'll bet it put a tug on someone's earlobe.

From the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), via The Ancient World.
