"Things You Wouldn't Know If We Didn't Blog Intermittently."
I'd pay cash for live flies. They keep my apartment-bound cat very happy.
This is interesting. I live in the town just West of Mansfield, and Cole's is still in business.
Reminds me of a book I read recently, I've forgotten it's name sadly, but it was on the history of species conservation in America, following the extinction of the Passenger Pidgeon. It had an interesting chapter on how people thought that taking out animal predators, such as wolves, coyotes, cats, hawks and falcons would be "good" for the species ecology (even details on "hawk shooting" to allow gamebirds to "recoop" their numbers). It also reminded me a little of ecological disaster science fiction novels from the 70's, like "No Blade of Grass".
