Racial/ethnic maps of American cities

Eric Fischer has a remarkable Flickr set of over a hundred city maps which plot population according to race and/or ethnicity:  "Red is White, Blue is Black, Green is Asian, Orange is Hispanic, Gray is Other, and each dot is 25 people. Data from Census 2000."

Pictured above are Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and Madison, Wisconsin.

  1. Fascinating. There's not much question that segregation, whether imposed, economic, or by choice is still a major factor in the United States.

  2. Man I could recognize that map above anywhere...I did a double take but it makes me miss home. You can see the part near Frogtown where the have the Vietnamese bakery and S. St. Paul...:( I wanna go home jeje
