Legalize the stuff and the price would decrease to $5.00 to $7.50 per ounce. And, more importantly, a lot of the drug cartels would be out of business. Does no one remember the 1930s?
those who would have spent 1,000s of dollars for pot would have more money to purchase other items. A big win for the economy any way you look at it.
The government won't legalize weed because then the pharmaceutical companies would go out of business. So instead of wanting to help their citizens (since pot treats so many illnesses), they would rather make billions in over-priced drugs
@ Emma :"The government won't legalize weed because then the pharmaceutical companies would go out of business."Riiiight. THAT'S why.
I can remember buying good weed for $220 a kilo. I guess that's why I drink cheap vodka now.
It would be great to see the data they collect used in comparison with crime rates and other stats. There's a strong relationship between the price of heroin and crime levels (heroin provision decreases crime, and yet we pay the police to try ineffectively to push the price up...) and I've heard from policemen who deal with plenty of people stealing to buy pot. They believe that lower prices would mean less crime.
