To fight obesity, serve thicker chips!!

Owners of fish and chips shops in Britain are being encouraged to make their chips thicker, because thicker ones contain "fewer calories and less fat" (per unit weight, one would assume).  Details at the Telegraph.
Officials want fryers to increase the size and thickness of their chips because chunkier versions absorb less fat in a bid to help tackle Britain's obesity crisis... They believe making individual chips bigger will slash the calorie content of an average portion of fish and chips...

  1. We make our own chips in the oven, and they are great. NO extra fat.

  3. Upstart, your point is well taken. I've substituted the same info from the Telegraph. I'd prefer the Guardian, personally...
