"Things You Wouldn't Know If We Didn't Blog Intermittently."
My sometimes hip hop-addled teenage daughter also loves this Metheny song . . . so its appeal must be universal!
What... you're implying I'm somehow different from a hip hop-addled teenager?
Thank you for posting this. I have enjoyed his music for many years and even had the pleasure of seeing him perform.
Stan, I am about to make you envious. Our condo in Portugal is located right next to a city park, which hosts regular summer evening concerts. On still nights, or nights when the breeze is blowing in the right direction, we can attend these concerts without ever leaving our own veranda. Two summers ago, Pat Methany came to play. It was a perfect night -- not too hot and no breeze. So we made up a few gin and tonics, sat out on our veranda, and listened to Pat Methany, live, for free. A personal concert in the comfort of our home -- and it was a great concert. That's one of the big, big perks of living where I do.To reduce your envy, I'll admit that the park is also the location of a different series of concerts -- the student-oriented death metal groups. These go on until 2 a.m., and there's no point in even trying to sleep until the screeching is over. We just grit our teeth and think happy thoughts about the next good jazz concert.
Thanks,Pat Metheny Group Rocks.
