Spud the Spineless Hedgehog

Spud is a hedgehog brought to St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital (Aylesbury, Bucks) when he was found to have a dermatologic disorder. The condition appears not to have been precisely diagnosed, though it looks like an eczema or an exfoliative dermatitis.

Since spines are hair-equivalent dermal appendages, the disorder has left Spud without spines. Those unfamiliar with how hedgehogs should look can get a cute overload at Google Images.

  1. Poor little guy! Who would have thought spines could be the major factor of cuteness in a critter?
