Woman tasered for sitting in aisle at football game

Hiebing, 54, a long time season ticket holder who had not been drinking, was ejected from Camp Randall stadium during the Oct. 11 game after she was discovered sitting in a stadium aisle, with her seat occupied by someone else. Authorities said a taser was used to subdue Heibing.

Both Whitney and witnesses said Hiebing's row was jammed with fans and no room to sit. Whitney said it's not unusual because seats are allotted for about 17 inches per fan, but often people end up taking more room.
Local justice officials consider the taser to be an "accepted intermediate option" when a person does not obey a police officer. The other viewpoint is that it should be a last resort before lethal force and/or for use when an officer feels his own safety is under threat.

  1. I vote for the other viewpoint.

  2. I think that the use of a tazer in situations as such; barbaric.
